Careers for STS Majors

The STS major provides excellent preparation for a variety of careers—business, law, medicine, engineering, education, and public service are just some fields in which STS majors have flourished. Current and prospective STS majors are advised to consult the following resources in their career explorations:
Stanford Career Development Center is your campus resource for learning about careers, networking, job and internship lists, resume and interview preparation, and other services
The STS Job Resource Center (powered by AfterCollege) provides a list of jobs and internships selected specifically for STS majors
The STS Office has extensive information on careers of recent STS graduates in its publication “IDP Self-Study Report: STS Program, 1999-2006.” In some cases, we may be able to provide you with contact information for STS alums who are working for companies or in fields in which you are interested.

Department of Exercise and Sport Sciences

Welcome to the Department of Exercise and Sport Sciences (ESS), formerly the Department of Kinesiology. We are very excited that you have chosen to view information from our Web-site. It is truly an exciting time to be a part of the ESS Department at Lubbock Christian University. Our department has recently received approval for a name change that better represents the entirety and quality of programs that we now offer. Beginning in the fall of 2009, several new options for our majors will be implemented and can be viewed below. Likewise, the addition of two new experienced faculty members, Dr. Hope Martin and Dr. Dean Culpepper, have enhanced the quality of advising, mentoring, and educational opportunities that our students will be exposed to. Regardless of the major chosen, our students will be exposed to a strong science-based curriculum preparing them for respected professions and/or a variety of graduate education opportunities. Description

The Bachelor of Science with Honours at Lincoln University is unique in that it is firmly anchored in the needs and issues of the real world.

Our scientific knowledge, research and teaching styles are directed at the sustainable management and conservation of our land, water and air, and our natural resources.

How to qualify

Admission to B.Sc.(Hons) is by application, and is open to students who have completed a B.Sc., another relevant Lincoln University undergraduate degree or an equivalent degree from another university.

To qualify for a B.Sc.(Hons) students may satisfy the requirements for one of the named majors or devise an individual major to suit their interests. Typically students will have completed the requirements of the appropriate undergraduate major to gain entry to a named honour’s major.
