Master of Library Science at Appalachian State University

School Media Track leads to the 076 North Carolina Media Coordinator lucensure for K-12 school librarians. Those with a previous “A” level teacher certification follow a 39 hour master’s program. Students who have never been certified as a teacher can pursue the 51 hour master’s program to earn degree and “M” level licensure. Students who have previously earned a Master’s degree in another educational field may be able to complete a 30-33 hour school media licensure track.
Public Library Track leads to the North Carolina public librarian certification.
Students may also pursue both School Media licensure and Public Library certification simultaneously (Dual Track).
